The March 17 holiday is usually a time for people to gather together and celebrate the Irish culture.
People dress in green garb, attend parades, eat and drink and dance and listen to music.

That won't happen in a traditional sense for the second straight year due to COVID-19.
But that doesn't mean St. Patrick's Day won't be celebrated.
You still have plenty of options this year — from a traditional Irish dinner with a green beer or Guinness stout to a shepherd's pie pizza or a pistachio martini.
Here are places you can get some St. Patrick's Day eats — and drinks — in the Brockton area this Wednesday.
Doyle's Bar & Grill (Easton)
Doyle's Bar & Grill will be serving its traditional boiled corned beef and cabbage dinner with potatoes, carrots and turnips starting Monday and running all week long. Don't forget to order a green beer to make the Irish celebration complete. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner starting at 11:30 a.m.
